The Appraisal Institute's Find an Appraiser directory is a comprehensive database of real property valuation professionals from around the world. It includes Designated Members, Candidates for Designation, and Associate Members, among other membership categories. Designated Members have the added ability to customize additional professional information in their profile pages.

We’re excited to announce the upcoming relaunch of our Find an Appraiser directory, one of your most valuable member benefits. This enhanced tool makes it easy for the public and fellow industry professionals to find and connect with qualified members who meet our organization’s standards, based on location, areas of practice and much more!

My Profile Welcome Message
- Your welcome message is displayed at the top of your Profile page. This is your opportunity to personalize your profile page and market your skill set. Text area is limited to a single paragraph.
My Service Area
Please review and update your primary and secondary service areas. Where possible, the State and City Listings from your current FAA Profile have been converted to get you started. Please note that if you have free-text Primary and Secondary Markets in your current FAA listing details, these values could not be converted and you will need to add these to your service areas.

How does it work? Instead of relying solely on your primary office location to determine a match, we have a developed a sophisticated algorithm that determines the result list based on a set of criteria that calculates a score. Don’t worry, your office location does still matters, but it is only one part of the equation.
Take your time! The details entered here offer a significant opportunity to improve your standing order in the result set for matching search criteria. You are allowed to designate up to 20 primary service areas county/state/country OR single stage combinations. You may select an additional 20 secondary service areas.
Tip: While you may service an entire state, narrowing your primary services for specific counties will improve your score. Factors that determine your ranking:

Other Professional Details
Designated Members have the added ability to customize additional information. Please review and update your professional details. As a part of our improvements, values have been reviewed and updated to reflect the current valuation profession.
- My Listed Details: This is where you can opt-out of the “Find an Appraiser” directory. Are you available for fee assignments? Are you a Veteran or is your business a recognized Minority/Women enterprise? You have the option to upload a resume as well as providing any non-Appraisal institute designations that you would like to include on your profile.

Tip: If a user chooses to narrow their search by specific criteria, you will only appear in the results if you have matching value(s).

Standard Contact Information
Your general contact details (i.e. not specific to “Find an Appraiser” but included on your Profile page) should also be reviewed and updated. These are managed in your standard profile settings and include your address, phone number, social media accounts, and website.
