The Appraiser Development Initiative is the premier nationwide program designed to attract new entrants to the real estate appraisal field while fostering diversity in the profession.
The Appraiser Development Initiative hosts workshops at various locations throughout the year. Anyone interested in learning more about the real property appraisal profession is welcome to attend any of our workshops. After the workshop, participants marked in attendance receive a link to submit a 300-word essay about why you want to become an appraiser, how did you hear about the field, did anything excite you from the presentation? Top essays are awarded a trainee scholarship which covers the cost of the courses required for the trainee credential in the state you would like to practice in. As part of the application process, you’re required to upload an updated resume.
The scholarships are for the appraiser trainee courses, along with books, professional support, and assistance finding a supervisor appraiser after the coursework is completed.
